Altamont Estate very popular on 1st day to market

Blog by Patrick O'Donnell PREC* | March 4th, 2015

The doors opened at 10.00 a.m. this morning on 3056 Spencer Court, by 10.30 a.m. we had our first written offer.  This evening with multiple offers in place as the owners boarded a plane to Rome, we came to an agreement - the home is now under contract.

Interestingly during the process, while negotiating with one client, another came to the table.  We are obligated to then let all parties know that they are in a multiple offer situation.  The first buyer felt that I was lying about the second party.  It is against the Real Estate Services Act to mislead buyers and sellers, let's not even talk about what is ethical or morally acceptable!!

Once a buyer starts doubting the intention, I have found it is better to cut the ties and work with another party.  That is what we did.  Buyer #1 missed out because he couldn’t believe that someone else might also see the value he had seen in a great Altamont property. Lots of tears from buyer # 1...my advice…Well, it wasn’t my buyer, so I will save the words of wisdom for those that choose to work with me.
